Wishes and Plans

Maybe I should stop making them. That way, I won't be disappointed.

Island

Foamy waves soothingly rolled up the shore and I paused to look at the horizon. The sky was stained a gentle pink, with bubbles gathering around the wooden posts secured to the ground, stood a few feet away. At the top of these were thick ropes, worn with age and weather. They stretched along the beach in an irregular line and the ropes- some thin, or thick, or old, or new or grades inbetween in various tones-led outwards into the sea. Some of the ropes sunk down immediately into the sand, others had a tattered end that moved with the slightest wind.

I walked forward, towards a gleaming post. The rope quivered and I looked along it, tracing the slight arc towards the other island. I knew that you couldn't get into the water. These ropes were the only connections to the other islands, and this post was my most precious. There was no one waiting for me on the other side today, so I slowly went back into the heart of my own island and slept until tomorrow.

First choice: Results.

Even if things aren't going by perfectly, I'll draw my sadness away and make my own path. I'm not going to lean on maybes and things that may happen and I'll work for my future myself. I know what I want, I know who I am and nothing's gonna stop me. That's a promise to myself.

I honestly wish the best for all of those effected by the earthquake and resulting tsunami, that losses are few and recovery swift. I don't know what else to say, but it's something that I can't not post about. To everyone there, I'm thinking of you.

Colored Lenses!

So my aunt came home today.......with coloured contact lenses. Apparently she got them (free!?) from Boots as a sample after asking in a Hazel and Gray colour and tried one of each in her eyes. It had a very cool effect and so I asked and was able to try on the other lens :)

It felt strange at first (I've never worn contacts before) but I quickly got used to it. Since it was a sample, 'DEMO' was printed on it, but somehow I put it in so that my eyelid covered it most of the time X3

Closeup, to show the colours in bright sunlight (nearer sundown by this point and odd exposures on my camera). The gray has a lovely yellowish/lighter ringinside it. My eyes are normally a darkdark brown and only have this light colour in bright (direct even!) light XD

Now I want to get an actual pair of coloured lenses, since I remembering eyeing them up a while back, but too chicken to order a pair in case I didn't like it and wasted my money. Gray, violet, pink, blues, greens...

Not quite time travel

...but more like backtracking >d Well, generally because it more or less covers saturday. Where I was at a court marriage and yeah, that's generally it. So now pretty pictures!

Adorable Find

So today is the first day of the half-term (basically a week off of school!) and I went to the city centre to browse and buy myself a plain pocket moleskine, since my yellow Pacman one is too big for my bag. After getting one at Paperchase, I wander in TKmaxx and find this -adorable- cream/yellow dress.

Yeah, wrinkly and plain, not much right?

Lots of pictures!

Haha, a number of things have been happening, so I'll post lots of picture here. I've been using my DSi picture purposes, but I bought my own camera last week, so the quilty of the shots'll get better towards the end XD

Taran's 18th birthday 'party' ( it was on the 27th last month, but the gathering happened the week after, tee hee) was at Red Hot. Very yummy food, although if you go too often, it seems like there's not much choice! I don't remember what I had for my first plate, but my second is always Carbonara Pasta. Mmmm...so yummy! And lots of sweets!


I bought a new dress, but really I wasn't sure how to wear it (plus it's a tad bit small and pretty short!) so I latered it on top of a lovely, chiffon dress, cinching both in with a belt. Curled hair in an off centre ponytail with a big fabric flower, navy OTKs and Black rocketdog heels and my beloved navy BtSSB heart bag and navy AatP rider jacket.

Eye makeup: Charcoal gray to blue towards inner corner eyeliner to halfway on bottom lashes

Nails! Alternating pink/purple and blue glitters!

The 'design' is OPI's black shatter effect polish- very cool to watch it crack :)

 Work the following week was surprisingly slow, so I had some time and made this acrylic face.

I'll say it's done for now~

And I made another face out of styrofoam earlier this week >D

Black and White Party

So I was invited to a Birthday Party on friday, which was pretty fun, the theme being black and white. There was alcohol (not for me though, I don't like the taste X3) and dancing (which I sort of did by the end of the night) and happy people.

I wore a handmade skirt and headbow, but first! Things I bought recently, huhuhu~

On Thursday I went to the city centre  and headed into Paperchase and then TKMaxx, buying an adorable notebook and umbrella respectively.

Close-up of the head bow. It's actually 3: A bottom, floppy one made of fabric that I snipped off a primark dress, the patterened one I made myself and a white ribbon, all slid onto a headband. I wore it to the side as it looks odd in the middle

  The top is a AatP/BtSSB shirred cutsew, with a Dorothy Perkin's corduroy waistcoat. Skirt is handmade, with AatP tights, which have glittery writing on the sides <3  Not shown are my heels, which are cute and black but comfortable as they are Rocketdogs.

Junji Ito

I'm quite a scaredy-cat, chicken, easily spooked and terrified. From words, pictures or video, it doesn't take much to freak me out and it's been like this since I was little. So I've avoided horror and to an extent thriller movies and such media, whether it contains ghosts and other supernatural phenomena to gore and psychological mindfucks. Even commercials and give me paranoia and I hate having to go upstairs when the lights are off, the darkness behind me. I turn around and leap into bed as soon as I switch off the light to avoid being near the gap under the bed at night. And I peek out from behind the shower curtains and stay away from the drains when I have a shower.

But there's something about Junji Ito that's got be hooked. I read Tomie and Tomie 2 last year, staying up all night to finish each. I had trouble getting to sleep that night, but I wanted to read more stories. Perhaps it's the art style and the way the people are drawn, maybe it's the adrenaline rush I get from each piece. Whatever it is, it's got me and I want more.

Nail Polish

I like painting my nails, and doing designs, it's especially helpful when tuesdays, thursdays and saturday's I'm at the nail shop as my mum works there. This week, I have shimmery nails that alternate in colour but with the same design on top in black and white. From my left hand pinkie, it starts with a blue/blue-green hue followed by a pink that's golden bronze in the light. Very cute and girly, in my opinion and refreshing in the winter!

When I Was Little

When I was little, before I really knew about religion, I thought that when people died they turned into stars.

The twinkling was them switching places with another person, like taking shifts.

The Beginning

Well, looks like this is my first post. *waves* Hello!

I love drawing and I tend to procrastinate when it comes to homework- unless it has a deadline. Then I end up staying up until un-godly hours trying to complete it the night before it's due. So of course I get irriatable and cranky in the daytime since I haven't had enough sleep. Or I'm a super-hyper-bouncy-fest of energy. I feel kinda bad for the people who have to deal with it on a daily basis, hehe. ( I guess I'm a normal student.)

So now I've googled "Beginning" really quickly since I'm not sure what I'm doing too much (I've edited this 4-5 times, maybe more, ugh) , and the definition that stood out to me the most was:

an act or circumstance of entering upon an action or state: the beginning of hostilities.

Although I'm -not- planning on going to being hostile, I found the example funny.

Anyway, this blog is going to be me trying to be more open and to share myself to the world. Perhaps because I don't go out much, perhaps so that people can find me.

It's a personal thing, a personal decision, so-
